Located on a small hill in Musellos, Nuraghe Majore is one of the most interesting and complex nuraghes of the territory of Ittiri, although it is not in a good state of conservation: in fact, the entrance is covered by layers of material of collapse and it is still possible to see only the central tower, with a maximum height of about 15 meters, and one of the secondary towers. Similar to the nearby Nuraghe Ena Ortu or Su Sassu, it has a bilobed plant and was built with blocks of trachyte.
It is worth mentioning an open room on one of the secondary towers: a "rotunda" characterised by a wall surface made of fine isodomic blocks, originally covered with a false dome and used for ceremonies and rituals. Probably this room can be ascribed to a later stage in the construction of the nuraghe. Near the nuraghe it is possible to see a big trachytic menhir, which attests to the use of this area since the Prenuragic age.
