Alivesi Hospital

Indirizzo: via XXIV Maggio 33A - 07044 Ittiri (SS)

The Hospital of Ittiri is named after Colonel Giovanni Andrea Alivesi, who commanded the sixtieth regiment in the field of Gazzuolo, near Mantua. In 1866, he made his will in favour of the Municipality for the establishment of a "charity hospital".

The construction of the Charity Hospital in his name was completed in the early twentieth century. It is a work of fine workmanship, with a rich façade characterised by a two-colour aspect thanks to the alternation of red trachyte (pedra rugia) and grey trachyte (pedra cana), expression of the work and the expertise of local artisans of the stone. Above the entrance portal there is an epigraph - MVNIFICENTIA PIISSIMI VIRI - in memory of Alivesi, its benefactor.
